FASCINATE

Dear friends and family, we, me and my mom, are doing something we have never done before. We are going to be taking a road trip to Kansas City, MO. for a youth conference by the International House of Prayer normally known as IHOP. I had my heart set on this as soon as I saw the promo video, thinking "What a great way to get youth together and be a great bonding experience with God and each other!” As this generation rises to the higher calling of God and as things in this world begin to unfold I believe it’s time for us to start being that brother, that sister that God calls us to be to those people around us! I was at my youth group FURNACE and the Holy Spirit was there, and I mean there! The next morning in my prayer time, listening to Jesus Culture... praying it out, God said "What you saw last night is JUST the beginning of what I'm going to do in your generation. I have just begun to touch you and I'm going to touch you even more than that." I believe that the gates of heaven are soon going to be opened and that we as a people will never be the same again. Here is the link to the site: FASCINATE We will be leaving July 11th. The conference is from the 12-15 of that week! My mom will be car pooling there and back, possibly with other car poolers. (Still looking into that.) The overall cost is 450.00, which that include food, a share in room cost, and partly in gas, an the registration. Our plans in raising the money are: Huge yard sale! (Want to help with this and want more info email Kassie at: burkefamilylmail@gmail.com ) Arbonne fundraiser, through my mom. (Want more info email Kassie for details at: burkefamilylmail@gmail.com ) Doing yard work for neighbors and church members. (This is best done with a partner!) Want to be a chaperone email us at our email above. Want to GO! Send us an email at burkefamilylmail@gmail.com any high schoolers are welcome!

There Must be More...A poem

As the river meets the bend,
So does my Heart bend towards my God.
As the flowers scent rises,
So do my eyes rise to the sky-
Waiting patiencely as the years turn by and by,
Me growing my spirit riding on the back of holy waters,
It has burned my soul.

The fire burns within with roaring replys to my selfish heart,
I still have much to learn,
And this my teacher grows with every right reply!
The Fire growing large,
My heart growing weaker in complete humble serenity.
I learn greatly through time as the trees grow near by,
And the mountins with their strength are nothing compared to a powerful Father.

The perfection of creation,
And it showing a mighty hand at every move and sound,
It moving graciously it worshiping silently,
I realize if I am Gods greatest creation,
With the heart I have just learning humble serenity.
Then there must be more than what meets my eye,
And has not yet been reveiled to my story.

Pursue ME- Song

Now, I have started a page for songs that are inspired to me, by God!

Here is one that I LOVE! Hope you enjoy... (please do not re-post on your own blog or use without permission. Please ask first!)

Pursue ME.

Inspired by God

I pursued you, pursuit me.

My heart is full, flowing for you.

Everlasting grace, running to you.

As I watch you my forever growing daughter,

In your commitment and your will I've watched you grow.

An as your days go to yonder,

My heart flows blood, to burst out to you.

The same blood I poured for you!

I love you.

I pursued you, pursuit me.

My daughter, My bride.

I pursued you, pursuit me.

I love you as a friend but, Even more as a lover.

Pursue me, I pursuited you!

My heart is waiting to flow to you.

So pursuit me, as I've pursued you.

My bride, my friend, daughter and my life.

Pursue me, pursue me.

My daughter and friend but,

Even more my bride!

Pursue me, pursue me!
~ (My reply)~

I'll pursue you, as you pursued me!

My Lover and my groom,
I respond as your bride.

I'll pursue you, as you pursued me.

I love you...
I will pursue yo...

There you go! I'm trying to compose it my self... so pray that works out.

Baking!

Lately, I've been making LOTS of irish soda bread! Its a favorite in our family....

Here is the recipe I use, its super easy:

6 cups of flour (Whole wheat is the yummyist!)

2 cups of buttermilk.

tsp of salt

tsp of baking soda

First mix all dry ingredients together and then make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Then mix to together, into a dough. Then spread flour on a hard service and knead the dough about five times. Then cut a X in the top and put on a greased cookie sheet.

Turn the oven on 350, bake 40 mins. (May take longer.)

I hope you enjoy! :)

What If via Botkin sisters!

http://visionarydaughters.com/2009/07/but-what-if

Just read this post over at visionarydaughters.com... Loved it SO much!

Wives and Daughters~

Molly Gibson: It's the one you did a drawing of.
Roger Hamley: You remember?
Molly Gibson: Of course I remember. I remember everything you wrote in your letters. How could you think I wouldn't?

I just got finished with my second watching of "Wives and Daughters" and I keep forgeting how much I love it! The dress, the characters, the storyline and above all else, the pure friendship that turns into a beautiful marriage! I love how Rodger and Molly are together from day one, to day one of their new life together as one... I know a bit cheesy, but what do you expect of a hopeless romantic, as my mom calls me? :)
Molly is a role model for me... her sweet spirit but, yet she's never afraid to speak her mind. Modesty is another virtue!

Here are more of my favorite quotes~~~~~~~~

[the scene in the rain]
Roger Hamley: I couldn't go. I couldn't go without... Molly, do I still have any chance with you? Molly Gibson: Yes.
Roger Hamley: I've been such a fool I know - yes?
Molly Gibson: Yes!
Roger Hamley: I had so much I'd prepared to say to you. I should have seen that it was you that I truly loved even before - d'you mean it?
Molly Gibson: Yes!
Roger Hamley: I musn't come any closer, I promised your Father.
Molly Gibson: Yes, I know!
Roger Hamley: Molly, dear Molly, will you be my wife?
Molly Gibson: Yes! Yes I will, Yes!

Miss Phoebe: We always knew Roger Hamley loved our Molly.
Miss Browning: We knew no such thing, Phoebe.
Miss Phoebe: Well, he rode seven miles to bring her a wasp's nest and you don't do that for no reason!

Roger Hamley: Then may I come to the house? Just once?
Mr. Gibson: No definitely not and there I come in as a doctor as well as a father. No.
Roger Hamley: Then if I don't come back I shall haunt you for having been so cruel.
Mr. Gibson: Come, I like that. Give me a wise man of science in love. No-one to beat him for folly.

Lady Harriet Cumnor: That was a good day's work I think. (Lady Harriet is one of my favorite Ladies.)

Lord Cumnor: I'm sorry I said anything about it now. I'll try to find a more agreeable piece of news. [pause]
Lord Cumnor: Old Marjorie at the lodge is dead.

I hope you enjoyed those!
Now off to read the book..
Love, Kassie

BE it.

So many times I see amazing people doing amazing things... and I also see people who don't do amazing things! I hear so many people say "That's horrible!" and then don't do anything to change things. I have a question....

HOW ABOUT INSTEAD OF WATCHING CHANGE, WE ARE THE CHANGE???

Now don't give me the excuses... "Oh well I'm just one person." "oh, that dollar that I gave to that company that gives to abortion industries won't do anything... its just a dollar."
May I remind you that MANY times in the bible just one person is the center of God's amazing plans, that he sets out!

It took ONE of Daniel, ONE of Moses, ONE of David, etc! If there is a will, there is a way... You just have to find it!

(Also you have no right to sit there and say... "oh, that's horrible!" because there sin is just as bad as yours, for not carrying out the mandate of Christ! "But, I do, I tell people!" I just have to share one of my pet peeves here... yes you saving someone is GREAT! But when that person comes back to you and they are happy to see their "Christ-like friend" just to get snubbed! That is not Christ- like and if that's your attitude of carrying out the mandate, then honey you need to change some things...)

We as Christians need to stop watching change and BE the change. Invite neighbors over and share God's love by just being their friends. When you go to the mall invite a girl from church you have never connected with before... stand on a street corner and pray for people. Hand out John 3:16 at the grocery store as people go in! Have celebrations at your house where families can just come to celebrate the awe of God, with food and music. :) There are so many ways to spread change and love if we just take time to find them... I encourge you this week to write down ways you can change things and then post them on your blog and maybe even to plan on exicutiong one of your ideas!

If you do this, please let me know! I would love to hear your ideas... :)

In love,
Kassie

You can't!

So many times as Christians we try to fix things not wanting any ones help... we want to save the innocent on our own! Which is great to a extent, we can't do it on our own, we have to let God help us! A lot of times we can't 'save' them, only God can. There have been SO many times where I've tried in my own strength to save someone from something, a situation, a choice, etc. Yes you can encourge but, a lot of times we need to step back, pray to God, and let Him take care of it. WE can't save them from their sin, only GOD can! He's the deliver, not us.

God can use us though, to speak to people and encourge, an help but, over all prayer and surrendering those things to God is the BEST we can do. Worry is a sin and will not help but, get you stressed out. You are probably sitting there saying "I know that!"... do you really though? So many times I take on other peoples burdens without even knowing! Lately God's been healing me of that... We can't but, thank God!, He can! :)

In love,
Kass
