This Season

Tonight I am just going to ramble... as Adele plays in the background as I write, I have no real goal in typing up this entry except that I simply want too.
Lately, well actually I don't know what to say quite about myself... my thoughts have been in twenty different directions...

Hm.. here's something, lately I've been noticing I have a love for sad, hopeless, love songs! I have no idea why but I do! Adele, The Civil Wars, Christina Perri, etc. All of them I simply adore. I guess because in some way I relate to the songs, atleast I feel like I do, even though I've never actually been in a relationship... or maybe its the art behind the songs. Maybe it's both.

Here is a fact: My favorite Christmas movie is "The Holiday"

I absolutely love it! The story, the music, the couples, the accents, the set, the kids! Perhaps I might watch it tonight. For everyone who hasn't seen this movie, I encourage you to see it... But I must warn you you might cry, I sure did and I don't normally cry while watching a film. Love this movie SO much!

Besides all of this, I'm excited about Thanksgiving in a couple of days and CHRISTMAS! To think our Christmas tree is going up in two days! And family is coming tomorrow... one of my favorite things is the expresstions on my family's face as we all greet eachother. From the jumping, (yes there is jumping) to the screams, to the tackle hugs.. I love it all! The other things my famliy normally does when we get together is late movie nights, and spontanous dance parties. Oh, and silly photoshoots. ;) So all that to say, I love this season!

Have a great Thanksgiving,
Kassidy

Fall is here, and I absolutely love this season... the leaves changing and the winter chill coming.. it delights me!!! The whole season makes me want to bake and change even different thought patterns and things about myself... I guess its like getting rid of the old person and stepping into the new... even if it means the death of winter! Anyways some food for thought....

The Bride's Season

Last night my heart was moved, a speaker was talking of the Bride of Christ... the word spoke to me so much... I decided to go deeper into the heart of God for his feelings of the Bride in this time...

As I was worshiping this morning God spoke to me about the Bride, he showed me a picture.. it was the Bride crying for more, as Christ came to give her more she slapped him and got up and ran the other way into a scene of mass chaos! Behind Christ there was the Kingdom and he was ready to give it but, it was rejected because the bride was not ready to throw aside her earthly desires...

One thing that Jesus told me this morning is that, we can cry for Heaven to come all we want but, if we are not ready to receive what he fully wants to give us then why are we asking for it?! It's our turn to show Him that we really want him, he has already reveal His heart, its time for us to reveal ours! The things that we have longed for in the Church, are things he has wanted for longer... we stand up for a minute in a worship service going for it, and then afterward we say "that was good" and go right back to our routine... Jesus is calling the Bride into a place of radical pursuit!
He wants to be longed for, just has much as we want to be longed for...
We must lock gazes with the one with eyes of fire, soon as we see those excited eyes, their will be nothing that we desire more than to gaze into them daily!

I felt I was suppose to share,
Kassidy

What is on My Heart Today!

To be wholely intoxicated by the beauty of his face, to be fully consumed by the fire that enters my soul! To live on the excitement in His eyes, the excitement of his eyes drives himself to do, what his father loves... to do what captures his father's heart!
When you see him with those eyes of fire, all you want to do is run! When he comes to you full of excitement, asking "Are you ready? Are you ready, to fully experience myself?" All you can say is yes, that is what it's like to be completely fascinated with Him! To know his emotions is to experience the fire, to see those eyes... to see his smile... to feel his heart.. is to be a walking FURNACE...is to know Him!

To have the knowledge of God, to know him as the creatures know Him... to love as Christ loves! To be fascinated, is the cry!

Window Seat DIY

So I got ridiculously crafty the other day and this is what I created....
Before.... a plain boring window seat.
After.... a comfy sitting place.
It is very simply how I created the curtains for this little spot, the steps are below!

1. I took twine and cut it into two 6 foot strands.

2. I went to random stores for the fabric, then I cut them into 4 foot strips.

3. Next, I tied all the fabric strips onto the strands of twine... when you do this make sure you have a even amount for each strand.

4. Then I tacked the first strand of curtain of fabric strips to the ceiling.... and then half way behind the first curtain, I hung the second fabric strip curtain, and just tacked it to each wall.. on each side of the window seat.

5. Then I took double sided tape and stuck the pictures to the strips of fabric!

Super easy, and inviting!

And just for fun, a new song I discovered.

Merlin

So my friends I come to you today with these words... "Watch the show Merlin on Netflix!"
It is a captivating show set in the times of King Arthur, absolutely thrilling! The only down side is, is that sense it is a British TV series it takes longer for us Americans to see the upcoming seasons. Which I have to say is really getting to me, because I finished the third season yesterday and now I'm dying to watch the next. Ah!

Every episode grabs you from the beginning, filled with intense action and breathtaking landscapes and exciting characters... go watch it now!

A Relationship

There comes a time and a place where you experience the love of God.
It doesn't exactly happen when you get saved,
or when you die.
It happens when you realize the deepest parts of you are not met.
When someone bigger than yourself is reaching down to where others have never dared to go,
and where you yourself have feared,
Would never be touched in the way you dreamed.
You've always known it would be if you only got to that place!
Entered into his presence and just talked to Him but,
Do we dare?
We ask.
Do we dare risk?
Do we dare step towards this person that will take us higher?
Like a rollarcoaster that never drops.
Do we dare to dream of a relationship that is perfect, in the light of a different being?

Do we dare enter into a house of servants,
knowing that one day the training will be over and we will enter his chamber.
As Esther did.
Do we dare fall in love with a King- Not just a king but the King of kings?
Do we dare realize his love?
Do we dare experience?

We are afraid of our lover.
Being so abused by the one who owned us before, we don't know how to act!
We act out of the habits of the other house because we were there for so long.
It's hard breaking from the habits.
But really the thing that draws us back the most-
is realizing the fact that true love does exist!
That perfect love exist!
Chains, sin, does not hold us back.
For when Christ died they were broken, it died.
Even if you sin, God forgives.
Believing in this "dream" is possible,
It can become a reality by pursuing God as he pursues us daily.

The love of God is a experience that is breathtaking,
Beautiful,
Engaging,
Moving.
Being intimate with God is a beautiful reality.
A love that makes you so deep in love,
Emotions come you don't even know what to do with,
So you use them to pursue Him more,
And you draw closer, deeper.
Emotions come stronger and it all happens again.

A beautiful cycle!
Made specifically for us,
for Him.
We were made just to love God!
To just be His own,
to share a paradise with Him.
I haven't always known true love,
I thought I did but,
pursuing God,
Him pursuing me-
Changes everything!

Deep calls out to deep, deep, deep.
He calls out to me, me, me!
We live to Eterity.
Where WE live life forever as one!

Pursuing is something that never stops,
It persits,
It moves,
It engages.
Its an everlasting thing that,
gives a drive to do things you never thought you could do,
simply because you love!
Pursuing is beautiful if looked at the right way,
In the wrong way it could look like more of a chore,
than an opportunity!
Pursuing is life changing.
When you make that the prime to life,
pursuing God,
Your in adventure for a lifetime.
One you will NEVER forget,
One you will never want to stop.
The best part about all this it never does stop!
It NEVER does.

A Post on Friendship

Meet my friend Stephanie, she is silly, wise, and always there! The other day I had the pleasure of going out to coffee with her, our conversation was filled memories and testimonies of our trip to Mexico, and of the many different things God has been doing in our lives. Steph is one of my few friends that I can talk to about anything, and who will laugh with me or at me.. ;) And who will give me wise advice, and lead me in seeking God in every situation.
Friends, are important. We need people in our life to share the joys and downfalls of every season of our lives. We need that helping hand and encouragement! I know for me if it wasn't for friends that lended a hand when I needed one, I don't know where I'd be. God puts these special types of relationships in our lives, to help us bear forth, to see the better and not the worst! In Ecclesiastes it says:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Friends are one of the most greatest investments of our lives....

Here is one of my favorite quotes on friendship:

In friendship…we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years’ difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain houses, the choice of one university instead of another…the accident of a topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting–any of these chances might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking no chances. A secret master of ceremonies has been at work. Christ, who said to the disciples, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,” can truly say to every group of Christian friends, “Ye have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another.” The friendship is not a reward for our discriminating and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others.”

A Song to Reflect on...

So I was listening to this song today, and I was struck with humility and a fresh desire for Christ... Here is the song:

Amazing Grace

William Wilberforce: It's God. I have 10,000 engagements of state today but I would prefer to spend the day out here getting a wet arse, studying dandelions and marveling at... bloody spider's webs.
Richard the Butler: You found God, sir?
William Wilberforce: I think He found me. You have any idea how inconvenient that is? How idiotic it will sound? I have a political career glittering ahead of me, and in my heart I want spider's webs.
Richard the Butler: [sitting down next to WW] "It is a sad fate for a man to die too well known to everybody else and still unknown to himself." Francis Bacon. I don't just dust your books, sir.
"Amazing Grace" is one of my favorite films, not only do I love the time period but, the story is so encouraging to me! Here is this young man going against all odds for the sake to free people and please God! The conversation above is one of my favorite scenes of the whole movie. Because its true, you find yourself sitting outside admiring creation when you have millions of things to do but, stoping and resting to soak in the magnifance of God that sourounds you, is the most imporant, life changing, part of your day... So refreshing! Don't you just love Him!

Well going to go watch "Pride and Prejudice" with my four year old cousin... Yes, he loves the movie more than I do! ;)

Sincerely,
Kassidy

My Testimony

(A photo taken on a car ride in Mexico)

So many of you know I went to Mexico,  and so tonight I am going to share with you my testimony of my experience in Mexico.
First I'll give you a brief history of what has happened this year. This year I have to say I have gotten distracted, I've cared more about my appearance and what others think of me instead of what God has to say about me... I have to apologize to all my readers, because I have not been the visionary daughter I set out to be, at the beginning of this blog.
This past year I really have given a good amount of my focus to fashion, and entertainment. I've cared more about keeping up with the times, then keeping up with the person's desires that created time! You see I didn't keep up with certain modesty standards I had for myself and watching more romantic chick flix's than needed.. this past year has been full of distractions, and I fell easily.

In Mexico God brought several things to my attention, one that I had exchanged his great opinion for the praises of others over my vanity. The second was my dress, I noticed on the trip I had began to push some modesty boundaries I had set up for myself. The third, my focus lately has really struggled with relationships and God brought to my attention that I really relied on a future with a significance other, and he asked me "If I wiped the surface clean of everyone, and you only had me for the rest of your life, would you be satisfied with just me?" In all honesty, I regret to say my answer was no, I mean if you really think about it, that is all girls talk about. It's girls main focus to find someone. Anyways, on this trip, God remined me of my first love, and my main purpose... to carry out the first commandment!  To focus on Him, and let everything go... to trust. And I'm just going to be real I have  horrible trusting issue... which I didn't notice until this trip either!
This has been an eye opening trip, and the freedom I got from this trip is amazing. I will share more about the other things that happened later, right now I'm going to go read!

Thank you all that have stuck with me,
In Christ,
Kassidy!

(Also just wanted to thank the Pruett girls that really encouraged me on this trip, you girls have an amazing understanding of Christ and his Spirit. Love you girls!)
