Are you the little girl who locks herself inside her room
Waiting to be rescued
Or are you the captain of war
That he began to prove his merit as a man
Everyone is known for something
What's it going to be for you
Are you the picture of perfection
But when it comes down to it you don't have a clue
Or are you the center of attention at all times
God help the man who takes away your chance to shine
Everyone is known for something
What's it going to be for you
No one else can paint your portrait
With an unobstructed view
You're the one who gets to choose
How much of you you've got to lose
How much of you you've yet to gain
Who are you...
The lyrics above are from a song I listened to this morning, and what the lyrics say is something I haven't thought about for a while. Who are you? What are you doing with yourself?
For a good while I would say, I'm me... and I'm doing what God want's me to do. But is that truth?
The part about being me is true, or I'm getting there at least. the second answer though, now that I think about it... I'm not really doing the second. I am in a sense, I'm leading worship at school but, one thing I noticed this morning.. is that though I am doing this, I'm not. You see, you can say your doing the will of God, but honestly your absent! Your not fully there, your not giving your whole self... and who wants half a mind or half a body? My mind and heart is not fully present and I need to change that!
