Reflections...

So this past weekend I went to my youth group's camp. The theme this year was overflow!
It was so amazing!!! God was just all over the place... in the games, in the fellowship, in the service, in the preperation, just everything.
As I look back to where I was before I went, I see a heart nicely orignized, just not in the right way!
My talents had been moved to a shelf, my thoughts of God had been pretty settle, not as much thought as there should have been. I thought it was alright, I was working on getting the "Ladies of Femininity" things together and to my eyes everything was fine, and to the blind parts of my soul it looked okay. There, even in my blindness, I knew there was hunger that was raging, I could feel it!
If you then looked at the house in my heart in the middle of the weekend, you probably would have seen a ramaged mess! Things were being turned around, stuck in different places, things were on the floor. I was being changed and challenged, far more than I had been the last couple of weeks.
The words that were spoken in the prayers of many who prayed for me was, "That she will have boldness. Give her courage!"
I have been struggling with that, actually sharing my dreams, talents, words, with others in person. Even praying!
So as I stepped out this weekend, got to get to know people I didn't know... praying outloud among people, and just with the presesnce of God on my life and in me getting me to think and push harder, I saw myself in a new light, not shy but, bold! Not silent but, loud! I was pulled from my comfort zone for sure, which I'm glad, my life was getting little to easy, as it can seem to get sometimes!

The last night we were there, last night, a spirit of joy broke into the room we all were in! Some began dancing, others began to clap their hands, and some started laughing. The energy was rapturous, and as we began to be detoxified of the things holding us back and impurities, and as we began to get intoxicated by God and His spirit, I noticed a freedom to do almost anything. I have to admit, I did have second thoughts when the worship began to get crazy, I'm more of a reserved person and it takes the Holy-Spirit to get me out of that and into dancing, and other things. I'm hoping though that I will be able to brake from that, and to take more liberty to speak more!

All in all, the weekend was amazing. It was one of the most refreshing weekend's I've had in a while. Oh, also they had a prayer room and it was so nice just to sit in complete surender to God, and just let His spirit melt your heart! I will, be sharing more later... Now listening to Julie Meyer! Whooo!!! :)

May the spirit lead you, God bless!

Jospeh My Cousin!

So I had a conversation about Jesus with my three year old cousin this past weekend. He started it while eating his peanut butter sandwich! Here is what our conversation looked like...

"Kassie, Jesus is singing m-m-m-m- MMM m-m-m- MMM (Ode to Joy)"- Joseph "He is?" Me "Yeah he's singing M-m-m-m MMM m-m-!"

"Heaven is in the sun/son." I didn't know what son/sun he was talking about...

Then he said "Jesus is in the sun." He said that also a couple of times!

He then said "He can't hear you singing Kassie.."- Joseph "He can't? Yes he can." -Me "No...Because he is in the sun!" Joseph.
Then Joseph said "He can hear you now Kassie!" he smiled so big then...

That was our conversation....Now he is known of talking very profound and his siblings as well.
After that little convo I really started thinking about the things he said! The words kept coming to my mind... So I decided to research... After that I was so amazed by what I found that I had to tell my aunt- his mom about it! Now through this I asked God to help me understand what this little guy was trying to communicate here, he did! Here is the message:

Hey,

I had a conversation with Joseph in the kitchen and I want you to know about it... Joseph was eating lunch when he started talking to me about Jesus. He said a couple of things that made me stop and think... These are the things he said "Kassie, Jesus is singing m-m-m-m- MMM m-m-m- MMM (Ode to Joy)"- Joseph "He is?" Me "Yeah he's singing M-m-m-m MMM m-m-!"

I looked up that song because I forgot the lyrics, also because I was researching something else he said. he kept saying it over and over again...and I just didn't want to take his four year old words an push them aside because of his age.... He said that "Heaven was in the sun/son." I didn't know what son/sun he was talking about...well if you read the first verse of "Ode to Joy" you will understand. I put it below...

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love;

Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above.

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away;

Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

So he was talking about Heaven is in Jesus...far as character and freedom and when are hearts are melted we will have heaven on earth!

Then he said "Jesus is in the sun." He said that also a couple of times! Look at the next verse of "Ode to Joy"

All Thy works with joy surround Thee, earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,

Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise.

Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,

Singing bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in Thee.

He was saying that Jesus is light- Jesus is in the light of God. He is the way the truth and the light :)

He then said "He can't hear you singing Kassie.."- Joseph "He can't? Yes he can." -Me "No...Because he is in the sun!" Joseph. This caught me off guard because I know Jesus is always with us... well if you look at John 17:1-26 Jesus is praying that we will know the Father as He knows Him. What Joseph was saying is- sometimes Jesus steps into the light of the father so we will know his Fatherly side! So the Jesus "side" may not hear us but at that point, God the Father is hearing us. Do you get it?

Then Joseph said "He can hear you now Kassie!" he smiled so big then...

I've been really thinking about this the last couple of days and its because God was trying to talk through Joseph's four year old speech!

Love you guys!

Kassie

How amazing is that? All this week I felt like God wanted me to look into this more and I learned a lot.

FASCINATE

Dear friends and family, we, me and my mom, are doing something we have never done before. We are going to be taking a road trip to Kansas City, MO. for a youth conference by the International House of Prayer normally known as IHOP. I had my heart set on this as soon as I saw the promo video, thinking "What a great way to get youth together and be a great bonding experience with God and each other!” As this generation rises to the higher calling of God and as things in this world begin to unfold I believe it’s time for us to start being that brother, that sister that God calls us to be to those people around us! I was at my youth group FURNACE and the Holy Spirit was there, and I mean there! The next morning in my prayer time, listening to Jesus Culture... praying it out, God said "What you saw last night is JUST the beginning of what I'm going to do in your generation. I have just begun to touch you and I'm going to touch you even more than that." I believe that the gates of heaven are soon going to be opened and that we as a people will never be the same again. Here is the link to the site: FASCINATE We will be leaving July 11th. The conference is from the 12-15 of that week! My mom will be car pooling there and back, possibly with other car poolers. (Still looking into that.) The overall cost is 450.00, which that include food, a share in room cost, and partly in gas, an the registration. Our plans in raising the money are: Huge yard sale! (Want to help with this and want more info email Kassie at: burkefamilylmail@gmail.com ) Arbonne fundraiser, through my mom. (Want more info email Kassie for details at: burkefamilylmail@gmail.com ) Doing yard work for neighbors and church members. (This is best done with a partner!) Want to be a chaperone email us at our email above. Want to GO! Send us an email at burkefamilylmail@gmail.com any high schoolers are welcome!

BE it.

So many times I see amazing people doing amazing things... and I also see people who don't do amazing things! I hear so many people say "That's horrible!" and then don't do anything to change things. I have a question....

HOW ABOUT INSTEAD OF WATCHING CHANGE, WE ARE THE CHANGE???

Now don't give me the excuses... "Oh well I'm just one person." "oh, that dollar that I gave to that company that gives to abortion industries won't do anything... its just a dollar."
May I remind you that MANY times in the bible just one person is the center of God's amazing plans, that he sets out!

It took ONE of Daniel, ONE of Moses, ONE of David, etc! If there is a will, there is a way... You just have to find it!

(Also you have no right to sit there and say... "oh, that's horrible!" because there sin is just as bad as yours, for not carrying out the mandate of Christ! "But, I do, I tell people!" I just have to share one of my pet peeves here... yes you saving someone is GREAT! But when that person comes back to you and they are happy to see their "Christ-like friend" just to get snubbed! That is not Christ- like and if that's your attitude of carrying out the mandate, then honey you need to change some things...)

We as Christians need to stop watching change and BE the change. Invite neighbors over and share God's love by just being their friends. When you go to the mall invite a girl from church you have never connected with before... stand on a street corner and pray for people. Hand out John 3:16 at the grocery store as people go in! Have celebrations at your house where families can just come to celebrate the awe of God, with food and music. :) There are so many ways to spread change and love if we just take time to find them... I encourge you this week to write down ways you can change things and then post them on your blog and maybe even to plan on exicutiong one of your ideas!

If you do this, please let me know! I would love to hear your ideas... :)

In love,
Kassie
